Cancellation and Missed Appointment Policy
Here at Parker Optometry we are currently experiencing a higher demand for appointments. To ensure that we can provide quality care in a timely manner, we are trying to reduce the number of missed appointments at our office. To achieve this, we are now implementing a cancellation/missed appointment policy which allows us to better utilize available appointments to help serve our patients’ needs.
Policy:
- There is no charge to cancel or reschedule an appointment if 24-hour notice is provided
- If less than 24-hour notice is given a $50.00 fee will be applied to your file. This fee would have to be paid before any further appointments can be scheduled
Please note that insurance providers and government agencies do NOT cover fees for missed appointments.
We do live in northern British Columbia and experience winter every year. Weather is typically not a valid reason for missing or rescheduling your appointment. Please remember to give yourself extra time or call us to let us know you are running behind. If you are more than 10 minutes late it may be hard to see you due to the full schedule; however, we will do our best to reschedule the appointment.
There are times when our patients require urgent or emergency eye care or broke a pair of glasses and therefore require an eye exam as soon as possible. When patients provide us with advance notice to cancel or reschedule their appointment this time can, in turn, be used to assist another patient in need of urgent eye care or a routine eye exam. Our clinic can better serve the needs of ALL our patients efficiently this way.
